Men and women often attempt to target and lose fat through diet and exercise. While many are successful, some struggle to lose the weight. Thaker Cosmetic and Wellness is proud to offer the latest techniques to safely rid fat from certain body parts. Lipo, or liposuction surgery, is a body reshaping procedure that reduces fat from the abdomen, hips, thighs, and buttocks (among other areas) to produce a slimmer and more toned appearance. This treatment at Thaker Cosmetic and Wellness can be blended with many other aesthetic and wellness treatments to treat several body parts. During your initial visit, Las Vegas cosmetic surgeon and board-certified family practitioner Dr. Reuben Thaker will examine problematic areas and create a customized treatment plan to help you reach your personal goals. We want you to look and feel the best you can be.
"I absolutely love this place! Rita is the sweetest person there who care for you you. So far I’ve gotten the laser hair removal and a microdermabrasion and my results are amazing! I can’t wait to go back and finish my hair removal and start my hydro fascial process."- H.D. / Google / Jul 13, 2019

"I went in for a hydro facial which was the first for me. I scheduled my appointment with Rita. The facility was very inviting and the room was very tranquil. When I laid down on the bed, I noticed it was nice and warm and extremely comfortable. Rita was very accommodating and explained everything that was going on during the facial. This facial was so relaxing and made me feel and look like I was glowing. Can't wait to try this again very soon. Rita even followed up with me the next day to see how my skin was feeling! Great service and even greater customer service!!!"- V.L. / Yelp / Jun 29, 2019
"Amazing facility! The equipment is all up to date and very clean. I had laser hair removal, microdermabrasion and hydration facial (done by Rita) all with noticeable changes before I walked out of the door. Can't recommend this place enough."- A.D. / Google / Jun 07, 2019
"I've been here a handful of times now, and always come out feeling better than when I came in. Dr. Thaker is kind and straightforward, and will work with you to make sure you get the treatment that works for you & your body. If something is not right for you, he won't do it, and I appreciate that honesty; especially in an industry where you may be able to find a doctor who will give you what you want, as long as you're willing to shell out - even if your body won't respond well to it or if could be hazardous to your health. I've come in and had microdermabrasion and hydrofacials done by Rita C., who is a wonderful medical esthetician with a great bedside manner. She always puts me at ease, and the treatments are relaxing and relatively painless - everyone's pain levels are different! But Rita has a gentle touch & I can practically nap while I'm getting it done. The hydrofacials have done wonders for my complexion, and have minimized the areas where I have hyperpigmentation and adult acne. The spa itself is sparkling clean, with all the latest equipment. Their prices are reasonable and they're quick to respond if you have any questions leading up to your appointment. Definitely give them a try if you're looking to treat yourself."- T.N. / Google / Apr 16, 2019
Liposuction is an excellent option for both women and men who are at a healthy weight but have stubborn areas of fat that have been hard to lose with exercise and diet alone. Those contemplating liposuction should have skin that is taut because liposuction does not address loose or sagging skin. It is also important to realize that liposuction is not a weight loss procedure. Women having liposuction should be finished building their family as pregnancy could compromise the results. During your initial consultation, Dr. Thaker will discuss realistic expectations for your individual needs.
Surgical liposuction is performed as an outpatient procedure with the patient under general anesthesia. A very small incision is made in the skin and a cannula will be placed. The cannula is a tube that helps loosen the fat as it is being removed. Once the fat deposits have been suctioned out, Dr. Thaker will close the incision. Depending on the number of areas receiving treatment, your surgery could last 1 – 3 hours. In the dedicated recovery area, your post-op team will help manage any pain and care for your incisions until you are released to return home.
What to Expect
You may need to recover at home from lipo for 1 – 3 weeks, depending on the number of areas treated and the size of the treatment area. It is normal to see swelling and bruising for 1 – 2 weeks. Your sutures can be removed on days 7 – 10. What is most important after having lipo surgery is to allow your body time to heal and recover. When you are ready to return to work after your procedure, you need to remember to go slow. To build up your strength, stick to short walks and light workouts as advised by Dr. Thaker. Keep in mind, you may see some changes after six weeks, but it takes 6 – 10 months before your new body shape and contour is attained.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does liposuction cost?
Your cost for liposuction will vary based on the technique being used and the number of areas being addressed. During your consultation, Dr. Thaker will develop your custom liposuction surgical plan based on your needs and goals. He will also take into consideration your budget. Once your plan is developed, estimated costs can be discussed. To make your surgery affordable, Thaker Cosmetic and Wellness accepts many payment options and we can help you find low-interest financing.
What about nonsurgical liposuction?
Thanks to modern advancements, there are many nonsurgical options to reduce fat. Some popular methods are CoolSculpting, SculpSure, and Kybella. While these nonsurgical treatments may help reduce small amounts of fat, liposuction is best for most patients. Liposuction surgery delivers more consistent and dramatic results. Talk to Dr. Thaker about nonsurgical lipo during your consultation. He will go over the benefits and drawbacks of both methods and help you decide which is best for your needs and goals.
What about loose skin?
Surgical liposuction only addresses excess fat in the body. If you have loose skin, Dr. Thaker may suggest combining liposuction with a surgical body lift. Liposuction is often performed with skin tightening surgery, such as a tummy tuck, to produce the best results.
Will I have scars?
Since liposuction is a surgical procedure, incisions will be made and stitched. This will create scars, but Dr. Thaker does his best to minimize their appearance. This includes making small incisions in the natural folds of your body or in less visible areas. After your surgery, Dr. Thaker or a member of his team will explain how to care for your stitches so they heal flat and eventually fade.
Will my results last?
Before you have liposuction surgery, it's important to be committed to maintaining your results. While liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in your body, you can still gain and lose weight. Dr. Thaker recommends that you be at or near your ideal weight before having liposuction surgery. Afterward, it is best to stay within 5 – 10 pounds of your post-surgical weight. Pregnancy after liposuction will also impact your results; however, a second surgery or mommy makeover can be performed to refresh your appearance.
